Earlier this year, Vogue excerpted a passage from Hillary Clinton's new memoir, What Happened. In the section in question, Clinton detailed how her husband Bill helped her in the immediate aftermath of her shocking election loss. The glimpse into those private moments following her concession speech were extremely memorable, but what perhaps most stayed in readers' minds was Clinton's closing line. After saying how she stayed offline for the first day after she returned home to her Chappaqua, New York, house, Clinton wrote, "I was grateful for the one billionth time that I had a husband who was good company not just in happy times but sad ones as well."

That's the mark of a strong marriage, and in the Clintons' case, it's a union that has lasted forty-two years. But for Bill and Hillary, the moment when they first met doesn't seem like so long ago.
